Ahead of the Manchester Derby where his City side will be aiming to further their superiority over City rivals Manchester United, manager Pep Guardiola in a stunning statement has claimed that he prefers sex over football.
The question was put to him by the reporters after PSG full-back who worked successfully with him at Barcelona made the claim that success on the football pitch was only bettered by the feeling of having sex.
Alves said the words in a documentary named ‘Take the Ball, Pass the Ball’ which is a documentary on Guardiola’s tenure as the Barcelona manager.
In the documentary, Alves said after Barcelona had beaten Chelsea after a last-minute winner, “It is because of moments like this that we all love football. The only thing that beats it is sex.”
To this, Guardiola responded in the press conference, “I prefer the sex — by far.”
Guardiola also spoke on how his style of management was not for everyone, with some players loving it and others, most notably Swede superstar Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who had a big falling out with the Catalan, hating it.
Guardiola said, “I can see a huge list who are on the opposite side. There is a list where they love me a lot, like Dani. They have another side from Sweden and other places where they don’t like me too much.”
