In what should be one of their most historic signings, the legendary Paul Scholes has been brought in as the second marquee signing for the Premier Futsal, announced by the Twitter account of the official account itself. Paul Scholes was one of the highly considered midfielders during his days and was kept in well regard even by players of the caliber of Zinedine Zidane, Xabi Alonso and Xavi, etc. The one-club man was nicknamed ‘Ginger Ninja’ for ginger hair obviously and fast-cutting precision in his wide range of passing and long-range shots.
The first signing was the ‘Pele’ of futsal, Alessandro Rosa Vieira aka Falcao, who’s considered one of the giants in this format of the game. Speaking to an Indian newspaper, the Manchester United loyal, Paul Scholes said:
“Premier Futsal will be a great way to introduce the sport to India and I’m looking forward to meeting the fans across India who I know are some of the most passionate in the world”.
Having already unveiled 19 futsal players and Falcao earlier, Scholes joins Deco, the ex-Barcelona mid-fielders as a marquee signing, with each marquee player assigned to each of the 8 franchises. The first ever multi-national futsal event, Premier Futsal will see over 50 international futsal players, coming all over from 4 continents and 21 countries.
