The much anticipated 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup is all set to take center stage starting June 7 and the world of football is getting ready for the elite tournament in all ways. Even brands like Nike, who has showered support for the Women’s tournament, have been creating some amazing promotional content.
The American brand who is heavily invested in promoting women in sport recently released a short film, in which the beautiful game is depicted in such an inspiring manner. The ad film features top players from the tournament, each selected from all the national teams participating in this year’s edition.
The short film, titled ‘Dream Further’, is part of their campaign by the same name, that promotes the vision of the growing popularity and evolution of women in sport.
10-year-old Makena Cook, the mascot of the game and who seems nervous, is taken through a journey with various players from different countries, in an empowering way that depicts both the unity that football as a game shares along with the spirit of the FIFA World Cup.
Other than the participating stars of the world cup, the ad film also features major football stars like Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar Jr., Fran Kirby, Amandine Henry, Sam Kerr, Crystal Dunn and Barcelona’s Gerard Pique and Philippe Coutinho. The video ends with an inspirational line: “Don’t change your dream. Change the world.”
The 8th edition of the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup kicks off on June 7, with host nation France taking on the Korea Republic at the Parc des Princes in Paris. The contest will last till July 7, when the finals will be played at the iconic Stade de Lyon.
