In an inspirational story for one and all, a female footballer and Orlando Pride superstar Sydney Leroux has returned to training for her team despite being almost six months pregnant. The United States of America player has achieved everything there is to in the game, but her commitment to it still remains unquestioned, as highlighted by this act of bravado.
The former World Cup winner and Olympic Gold medalist is expecting her second child and posted the update of her heroic return to training on her Instagram account, writing, “I didn’t think I’d be starting off preseason 5.5 months pregnant but here we are. 😂”
When asked about what kind of training she was participating in, Leroux assured everyone that it was pretty low-risk stuff with no contact involved.
She said, “I just do non-contact stuff. Ball work. Getting touches in. I don’t put myself in situations where the ball can ricochet or I can get hit. No high intensity running and I listen to my OB (who knows more than people on Twitter telling me what I shouldn’t be doing with MY body.)”
Sydney already has a son named Cassius with her partner Dom.
Her act of bravery has seen a lot of affection coming her way from all corners of social media. Even her compatriots have been lavishing huge praises on her.
One of the biggest superstars in women’s football and Sydney’s USA and Orlando Pride teammate Alex Morgan said as quoted by The Sun, “Proud to be your team-mate Syd. Can’t wait to get on the field with you.”
Sydney’s husband Dom Dwyer is also a footballer and previously had a spell at former Premier League club Norwich City. He currently plays for Orlando City and has also been capped by the men’s team four times.
