Liverpool Scouting Max Meyer In U21 Euros
Liverpool are monitoring Germany starlet Max Meyer at the U-21 European Championships that are going on in Poland.
The Schalke winger, was reportedly a transfer target for the Reds and despite having signed Mohamed Salah from AS Roma last week, Jurgen Klopp remains keen on the youngster as he is aware of the loads of promise and potential that he possesses. Meyer has just a year left on his current deal with Schalke and is widely expected to leave, for a fee less than £20 million and Liverpool have a whole contingent of scouts watching Meyer in Poland, where he is currently representing the U-21s at the European championships.
A full Germany international, Meyer was the captain of the Germany team that won the silver medal at the Rio Olympics last year. (Daily Star)
Juventus Open Talks With Southampton For Cedric
Serie A champions Juventus are set to make a move for Southampton full-back Cedric Soares, to replace Manchester City bound Dani Alves.
The Bianconeri released Brazilian Alves from a two-year deal earlier this month and he is expected to complete a move to Manchester City soon. And they have identified the 25-year old Cedric as the man to fill in for the former Barcelona man. Cedric, a UEFA EURO winner with Portugal last year, still has three years left on his current contract with the Saints. Juventus are expected to come in with a £15 million bid for the Portuguese international. (The Sun)
Swansea Reject Everton’s £30m Bid For Sigurdsson
Everton have had a £30 million bid rejected for Swansea City and Iceland playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson.
The 27-year old had a stellar campaign for the Welsh club, as he finished with 9 goals and 13 assists, helping his team stave off relegation. In the process, he won the Swansea’s club player of the year award, for the second year running. Sigurdsson signed a new four-year deal with the club as recent as last year.
However, with Everton maintaining a strong interest in the attacking midfielder, they are expected to come back with a bigger bid soon after. The Toffees have shown their spending might in the transfer market, having already spent heavily in signing Jordan Pickford from Sunderland and Davy Klaassen from Ajax. (Mirror)
Arsenal And Man City Planning Shock Aguero-Sanchez Swap Deal
Manchester City are refusing to let go hopes to sign primary summer transfer target Alexis Sanchez and are willing to go to extreme lengths to sign him. If reports are to be believed, the Sky Blues are planning to offer star forward Sergio Aguero to Arsenal in a straight swap deal for the Chilean international.
Pep Guardiola is keen on joining forces with Sanchez, who scored 24 goals and registered 10 assists in the Premier League last season. There have been no discussions held between the clubs, but the Citizens are planning to sweeten any deal by offering the Argentine talisman.
Sanchez has just one year left on his current contract with the club, but manager Arsene Wenger remains confident that the Chilean, who is on international duty in the Confederations Cup, will extend his stay at the club. (Daily Star)
Bournemouth Close In On Ake
Bournemouth are closing in on sealing the transfer of young defender Nathan Ake from Premier League champions Chelsea.
The 22-year old versatile defender spent the first half of the 2016/17 season on loan with the Cherries and impressed heavily with some solid performances for Eddie Howe’s side, but was called back by his parent club in January. Bournemouth had immediately launched a bid to sign Ake back then, but Chelsea rejected it.
There has been an interest from the likes of Leicester City as well, in the Blues academy graduate, but the Cherries are expected to complete a £20 million deal soon after the player returns from holiday. (The Sun)
