Ahead of their Champions League encounter against Young Boys at Old Trafford, Manchester United’s Spanish amigos David de Gea, Juan Mata and Ander Herrera decided to spend some chill time out in Hale, Greater Manchester, as they went out for coffee after Monday’s training. The trio was joined by the club’s goalkeeping coach, Emilio Alvarez.
Taking to Instagram, Ander Herrera posted a picture and simply wrote, “Post training coffee.” The three Spaniards are known for their solid bromance and spending quality time with each other.
The three also hold a great deal of respect for each other. Back in May when de Gea was awarded the Golden Glove, Mata took to Instagram and simply wrote, “Best in the world.” De Gea celebrated his 28th birthday earlier this month and a brilliant performance away from home in Italy gave United an unlikely 2-1 win over Juventus. Again taking to social media, the former Atletico Madrid stopper thanked his teammate for his goal and wrote, “Not a bad present from my amigo @juanmatagarcia Great win, great day.”
As of now, after a disappointing 0-0 draw against Crystal Palace, the trio will shift their attention to the European leg of the season, with a trip of Young Boys scheduled for Tuesday night. Other than depending on Juventus and Valencia fixture, this game holds an outright significance for Manchester United. A win for the Turin team and United would get them a ticket to the round of 16.
Meanwhile, David de Gea recently decided to gift his gloves he wore during his 250th league game for the club to a non-league goalkeeper Jordan Dawes; who suffered a stroke at the tender age of 18.
Thank you so much, you’re my literal inspiration
