Rumours are rife; and since it is that time of the year, you know your timeline will be flooded by some extravagant transfer news. However, with the FIFA World Cup approaching the business end of the campaign, these kind of news have hardly received any kind of traction and Gianluigi Buffon joining Paris Saint Germain recently, while Thomas Lemar moving to Atletico Madrid is the perfect specimen of it.
But then again, exceptions are there and when a player of Cristiano Ronaldo’s stature is in the headlines, eyebrows are raised and heads get stumbled. The Portugal and Real Madrid legend, off late, has been surprisingly linked with a move to Juventus after being reportedly unhappy with his current club. Ronaldo moved to Real Madrid back in 2009 for a then club record €94m fee and a finance of somewhat of a similar capital is expected to be cashed by the Turin club this year.
Having signed a new contract with Real back in November, Ronaldo sees his deal running until 2021, but it is hard to see him staying at the Spanish capital until then. At Juventus, Ronaldo’s salary would take a great hike with Goal claiming he would pocket as much as €30m a year.
