The topmost club in the Premier League, Manchester City, continued their monopoly in the summit of the table as Bernardo Silva scored the only goal against title holders Chelsea. His partial-namesake David Silva was adjudged man of the match and was applauded immensely at full-time by the fans at The Etihad. Chelsea basically failed to turn up as they failed on the attacking end of things with 0 shots on target as Antonio Conte continues to pull the hair out of his head as his side’s dismal run since the turn of the year. Manchester City have had a fantastic season so far, going unbeaten for a prolonged period losing just one game to Liverpool. Premier League Champions Chelsea have had a topsy-turvy season as they find themselves in 5th place despite some strong performances. Conte’s expensive outlay in the transfer market hasn’t paid off as he intended it to. As usual, The Citizens dominated their possession-based game as they had 71.1% of the ball and enjoyed a majority of the chances too. They had 13 shots and 3 on target whereas Chelsea just had a dismal 3 shots and none on target. This basically shows that Chelsea weren’t even in the game and if they weren’t defensive like how Conte usually measures them out to be, they would have been at the end of a real thumping.
