There is no denying that we love watching kids of athletes follow in the parents’ footsteps. Tiny tot feet running up and down the field as their parents watch.
We are talking about a particular event that took place at Anfield stadium in Liverpool. The match between Liverpool and Wolves ended with the former winning 2-0.
Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah was spending time with his family post-match and after winning the Golden Boot. His daughter Makkah, wearing the new Liverpool kit, ran onto the field and dribbled the football across half the turf. Last year, she just joined her father on the field; this time she went for the goal.
As she scored the goal into the back of the net at the iconic Kop end, the crowd erupted in cheers. The 5-year-old is clearly as talented as her father, who stood there watching the entire thing, gleaming with pride.
Makkah is named after the Muslim holy city and site of the first revelation of the Quran, Mecca in Saudi Arabia. Mo Salah is a complete family man when not blazing it out on the field. He doesn’t really share photos of his wife but his daughter sure does make the occasional appearance.
‘The Egyptian King’ on the football field is extremely fond of his daughter. By the looks of it, Makkah will probably be making her football debut in a few years!
