The new year has brought good news not only for Manchester United but also for striker Romelu Lukaku who became a father for the first time. The Belgian striker has been finding back of the net after missing two games over Christmas for personal reasons.
According to reports in SunSport, Lukaku travelled to America to be with girlfriend Sarah Mens as she gave birth to baby Romeo. United and Lukaku’s representatives at Roc Nation Sports are yet to comment on the same.
The 25-year-old striker has been in terrific form under new manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The former Red Devils star was given the high profile job at Old Trafford after former Chelsea and Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho was sacked last month following team’s string of poor performances.
Ever since returning to the squad the forward has scored against Bournemouth and Newcastle coming off the bench. Lukaku started the match against Reading at the weekend in the FA Cup and was on the scoresheet again.
The arrival of Romeo in the Lukaku family has really spurred up the ex-Everton striker, who found his chances hard to come by under Mourinho. The Portuguese manager had kept the Belgian out of the team for a month, before bringing him back in the side.
