Many sons spend a lifetime trying to make their old men proud. It might be a tough task, if not the toughest in the world, but some actually get their act spot on quite early. Here are some sports star kids, who seem to be looking good to follow in their famous fathers’ footsteps:
Conor McGregor and the junior
The notorious mixed martial artist and boxer was recently joined by his toddler in the gym. Conor Jr not only donned enormous leather gloves but was also seen pushing a punching bag as the proud father posted the cute pics on Instagram. As the Irishman, who takes his son all over the world for his fights, worked on his wresting skills on the mat, the junior enjoyed playing around in the Dublin training centre. It seems MMA already has a future star in the making.
Cristiano Ronaldo and his boys
The Portuguese might have missed on a Ballon D’or this year, but it seems the award might follow back to his trophy cabinet even after he has quit. After his dad’s £90 million move to Juventus, Cristiano junior was quick to impress in the club’s under-nine team, picking up a trophy too which the senior happily shared on social media. The younger one, Mateo, was, however, quicker. All of one, he was seen kicking the ball around in their Turin villa like a pro, in a video posted by Ronaldo’s partner Georgina Rodriguez.
Roger Federer and sons
Leo and Lenny couldn’t have dreamt of a better coach. Their 37-year-old dad has 20 Grand Slams to his credit and he is not yet done with the court. The twins are just four and Federer sounded all happy when he recently admitted that they have been “playing for a few years”. With tennis being in the genes, their mom Mirka being a former player too, it wouldn’t be a surprise if their nine-year-old twin elder sisters, Myla Rose and Charlene Riva, also take up the sport for real. For, they “play a little bit” but don’t seem too keen.
AB de Villiers and Abraham
The South African surely stunned his fans when he suddenly called quits on a wonderful career this year. Or was it perhaps he thought his son looked good to carry on his legacy? Abraham Benjamin or AB Jr was all of two when he showed his prowess with the bat on the field during the last year’s Indian Premier League during a Royal Challengers Bangalore training session. And, needless to say, his dad was happy to see him get his stance right.
