Real Madrid created history when they beat Liverpool 3-1 to become the win the UEFA Champions League for a third season in a row, in Kiev on Saturday.
Liverpool were off the blocks early and put some pressure on the reigning champions early on, but they saw their early momentum wither as the first half wore on and by the time half-time arrived, Real were in the ascendancy.
And within five minutes of the restart, the Merengues were ahead in a rather bizarre fashion when Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius tried to quickly roll the ball out after collecting a long pass, but the alert Karim Benzema stuck out a toe to divert the ball into the net. However, the lead lasted just five minutes though, as Sadio Mane restored parity poking home from close range after Real failed to deal with a corner.
Substitute Gareth Bale then produced a moment of magic minutes after coming on to the pitch, scoring a screamer of a goal, as he produced a stunning bicycle kick from the edge of the box to put Madrid ahead once again in the 64th minute. The Welshman then went on to put the result beyond a doubt in the 83rd minunte, as his effort from distance was fumbled into the back of the net by Karius.
It was another colossal performance for Los Blancos, as they once again rose to the occasion and completed a hat-trick of European triumphs and took their overall tally to 13 trophies.
Here's how Zinedine Zidane's stars fared on the night;
The mean machine has been the weakness of footballers who make million bucks from their profession. As they live their lives king size, they like to lay their hands on things that’s exclusive, especially when it comes to car. One such footballer, who has a huge fetish for lavish cars is Karim Benzema. The Real Madrid star has a car collection worth £3 million.
