On this day back in 1978, one of the greatest goalkeepers to have ever graced a footballing field, Gianluigi Buffon was born. At a very tender age, Gigi had offers from Bologna and Milan, yet he decided to start his career with Parma in 1991, aged 13. His first team debut came at the tender age of 17 and a young Gigi went on to keep a clean-sheet against AC Milan in 1995. In his second season with the club, he became a regular fixture and went on to spend six seasons with Parma before eventually, Juventus came calling. Till date, the 40-year-old stopper has made more than 600 appearances for The Old Lady and has won 10 Serie A titles. While with Italy, Gigi has 175 caps and is also a 2006 world cup winner. Relive some of his best saves here.
