Formula 3 driver Sophia Floersch suffered a nerve-wreaking accident in Macau yesterday and unfortunately, she wasn’t the only one to be hospitalised following the mishap. The crash was immediately followed as many as four other people getting hurt and were hospitalised for their respective injuries.
The F3 World Cup Final on November 18 in Macau was completely overshadowed by a horrible accident which occurred during the early part of the race. A footage of Sophia Floersch, 17, crashing through the barriers went viral on the internet which literally left the motorsport world sport in extreme fidgety.
A follow-up news eventually revealed she had suffered a spinal fracture and taking to Twitter, Sophia confirmed she is fine and thanked her fans and the officials for their support.
Just wanted to let everybody know that I am fine but will be going into Surgery tomorow morning. Thanks to the @fia and @hwaag_official @MercedesAMGF1 who are taking great care of me.
Thanks to everybody for the Supporting messages.

The accident happened after the safety car restart when Sophia’s car collided with Sho Tsuboi’s. Her car flew into the mid-air and landed at the photographer’s stand. The FIA were quick in releasing the statement and mentioned that besides Sophia, two photographers and a marshal were injured.
The accident was so brutal that Formula 1 fraternities such as Fernando Alonso and Jenson Button expressed their discomfort. The Spaniard said, “All my thoughts are with Sophia Floersch after the accident at Macau. Let’s hope to receive positive news soon ! Keep strong.” Button, on the other hand, said, “Sorry to hear that @SophiaFloersch has a spinal fracture but looking at the horrific accident she had today in Macau it could have been so much worse. #getwellsoonSophia“
