Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has started taking hockey lessons for his biopic on the 1948 men’s team which won the Gold medal at the 1948 London Olympics, ‘Gold’. This news was released by Deccan Chronicle.
The report in the Deccan Chronicle stated that Akshay Kumar, in order to look convincing in the role of Balbir Singh in the movie, had started taking hockey lessons over the past few days. Sunny Kaushal, who plays the second lead in the film, has also started to train in hockey.
A source in the Deccan Chronicle report states:
“For the role of a hockey coach in the film, Akshay Kumar has been practising the game in the grounds of a school situated in the suburbs of Mumbai city. Actor Sunny Kaushal, who will be playing the second lead in this sports film, has also been going with him for training.”
The report also states that Akshay Kumar will be donning a traditional attire of dhoti-kurta throughout the film in order to look authentic, keeping up with the era.
Akshay Kumar is riding high after churning our hits like Rustom and Jolly LLB 2 in the past and will be hoping to continue this hot streak with the 2018 Independence Day release ‘Gold’. No wonder, he is going through such extreme lengths to ensure that the movie is a smashing box-office hit.
