Defending champions and one of the most favourite sides, Patna Pirates faced a ferocious defeat against Dabang Delhi when the Delhi side notched up a win by 33-15. The capital side was in full flow and took a giant leap in the match.
Star man Pardeep Narwal, who scored just three raid points, was kept out of the game for a massive 25 minutes. They handed Patna their heaviest home defeat in PKL history, annihilating them by 18 points. That match will go down in history as one of the greatest upsets in the tournament.
Though, the loss didn’t really hit the Patna team as they continued with the winning ways and clinched yet another championship in the fourth season too. Playing the second edition in one year, Patna never really looked to lose focus in the competition as they defeated Jaipur Pink Panthers in the final.
Patna, who were the champions of season 3, dominated the game right from the first whistle. The Patna unit made history as they became the only team to lift the trophy twice in the tournament’s history of four editions. Dabang Delhi on the other hand haven’t tasted success in the most popular Kabaddi league.
Patna were pretty confident while going into the final match. They didn’t leave a stone un-turned and were dominating the clash in all departments with authority.
