The internet broke down after the latest (and second last) episode of Game of Thrones. Fans really lost their cool after the Mother of Dragons decided to burn down King’s Landing. Apparently, it ruined her character’s arch that has taken seven seasons to develop. What’s more, Jaime’s return to Cersei left many fans disappointed.
But amidst the many extras that were ‘lit up’, there was a certain NFL star to make a cameo. Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers has loved the show since its inception. In the mini-documentary that is uploaded right after the episode airs, the show’s writers, Dan and David, mention ‘trying to spot Aaron Rodgers’.
Rodgers has often expressed his emotions about the show on social media as well. The quarterback appeared in 1-2 places (as one of the archers guarding the fort as well as Terrified King’s Landing Denizen #12). Unfortunately, he didn’t survive Daenerys Targaryen and her dragon, Drogon’s wrath.
Rodgers also uploaded a photo of himself in the costume and captioned it as “It was just for a few seconds, but I’ll always be thankful to have been on the penultimate episode of @gameofthrones#crazyepisodetonight #🔥🔥🔥🔥”
Apart from Aaron Rodgers, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson was also a part of the fifth episode. The World’s Strongest Man has been playing the role of Ser Gregor Clegane (or The Mountain) in the show.
The last time we saw The Mountain’s face was in Season 4 where he was severely injured. In the most recent episode, we finally got to see the Frankenstein-ish avatar during the ‘Clegane Bowl’. Yes, that really is the same guy!
The series finale of Game of Thrones is set to release on 19 May 2019 (20 May 2019 at 6:30 am in India).
