When Dominic Thiem was playing the most crucial match of his career against Rafael Nadal in the US Open quarter finals in August, there was one pretty tennis ace who was cheering for him from the stands – Kristina Mladenovic.
The French tennis ace, who has won one singles and 18 doubles WTA titles, is actually a sight a behold.
Kristina’s father Dragan Mladenovic is a former handball player and an Olympic gold medalist for Yugoslavia, and her mother Dzenita is a former volleyball player.
The family moved to France in 1992 when Dragan was signed by Dunkerque HGL.
The biggest high in Kristina’s career came when she won 2013 Wimbledon and 2014 Australian Open Mixed doubles title alongside Danial Nestor. She also won the 2018 Australian Open Women doubles title with Timea Babos.
Kristina fell in love with Austrian tennis star Dominic during 2017 Roland Garros French Open. Kristina almost watched all the matches of Dominic in 2017 French Open. In December 2017, they announced that they are dating through an Instagram post.
