A generation of tennis fans has grown up watching Rafael Nadal’s masterclass game and him winning one championship after another. Entertaining his fans for over more than a decade, Nadal has won 17 Grand Slams title in his career, including 11 French Opens.
Aptly called The King of Clay, Nadal has built a fortune of $160 million in his life. Though majority of his earnings come from winning titles and endorsements, the tennis great also has invested in other businesses to further multiply his already glorious fortune. Rafael Nadal is in the list of highest earning male tennis players of all time and is just behind Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer.

The Rafa Nadal Academy
In 2016, Nadal opened his own tennis academy in Spain to teach young tennis enthusiasts the required skills and tricks of the game. Focused on raising best talents, the academy uses a holistic approach towards teaching. Children enrolled in the academy live, eat, go to school and get their professional tennis education inside the centre. Yes, there is a school inside the premises of the academy called American International School of Mallorca, which makes it easier for kids to manage tennis and school together. The academy charges €56,000 per year for each student.
The Rafa Nadal Sports Centre
The Rafa Nadal Sports Academy is located within Rafa Nadal Sports Centre. The whole facility is over 40,000 sq mtr. The centre premises houses 26 tennis courts, a school, squash courts, football fields, swimming pools, multi-sports area, sports residence, a Rafa Nadal museum, a health centre with spa and café.
Tatel and Zela restaurants
Rafael started Tatel restaurant chain along with music composer Enrique Iglesias, NBA player Pau Gasol, football great Cristiano Ronaldo and other investors. The Spanish cuisine chain, Tatel has three branches so far Madrid, Ibiza and Miami, and has plans of further expansion. Post the success of Tatel, they also opened restaurant Zela in Ibiza on 2017.
Real Estate and hotels
In 2014, the tennis ace invested in a hotel in Cala Millor, Mallorca and earlier this year he invested in a property in Madrid with other business tycoons.
Rafa Nadal Foundation
In his effort to do something for the society, Rafael opened his charitable trust – Rafa Nadal Foundation – to offer free sports education to the underprivileged kids. Nadal’s mother Ana Maria Parera takes care of the functioning of the foundation that runs projects in India and Spain.
