Wanderlust is a strong desire, an impulse in a human being to travel and explore the world. Very few people actually get to fulfill these desires. Fortunately, athletes are often in a position to bring their desires to reality and often get to explore some of the most luscious locations in the world in their free time.
Tennis especially is a sport which takes place in all the corners of the globe and athletes get to travel even during the season. Then in the offseason, they again jet off to exotic locations to explore new things in their life.
2018 Australian Open Champion and former World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki is doing the same after in what was a monumental year in her career. She finally got over her mental hurdles and conquered her maiden Australian Open title.
In the offseason, she has jaunted off to the Cayman Islands in the Carribean, one of the most popular island tourism destinations in the world and seems to be having a blast.
Here are a few of her Instagram posts from her travel sojourns:
Wozniacki also took some time to chill out in the pool with a specially designed float boat which closely resembled a unicorn.
Wozniacki also scored a cheeky little snap posing as a mermaid on the beach.
Apparently, Caroline also made a new best friend during her time in the Cayman Islands.
Finally, she posted a photo of her reveling in the beautiful sunset on the island.
After the short vacation, Wozniacki will soon get back to training as the tennis offseason is pretty short in nature. Come January, big tournaments will already get underway in anticipation of the Australian Open, the first Grand Slam of the calendar year.
Wozniacki will be the defending champion at the tournament and will be aiming for a good showing. She will also target becoming the World No.1 again and add some more titles in her kitty.
