It seems like WWE superstar John Cena is set to stay away from the ring for another few months or even the entire year. The wrestler hasn’t featured in a competitive wrestling match for the longest time having been occupied with other activities. The 41-year-old who was the protagonist in 12 rounds might be gearing up for another on-screen appearance as an actor.
There has been no sequel for 12 rounds, but there is one for suicide squad. Dave Bautista, who was associated with James Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy was apparently excited with the news of the sequel and tried to get in touch with the latter.
However, it seems like Marvel and the director have different plans for Suicide Squad 2. Moreover, the former wrestler himself is busy as he has already dedicated most of his coming days to shoots and is occupied with schedules.
Bautista’s departure from the film is an unfortunate event, however, this has led to the inclusion of another WWE star – John Cena. The role hasn’t been disclosed yet, but it is said that John will be playing the role that was set for Dave Bautista.
Even if the details of this role are unclear to us, it is sure that the team is looking at a large chunk of muscle mass and comedy, which could be a perfect fit for Cena. Along with 12 rounds, which was way in the past, John has had a steady start to his acting career. His roles in Trainwreck, Ferdinand, Daddy’s Home, Sisters, and Bumblebee have all been no less than perfection.
Now, to the best part. Let us speculate on the role that John might be playing in this film. The best fit for Bautista would be Solomon Grundy and we believe it could be a good fit for Cena too. Rumours suggested that Bautista could be playing peacemaker. As for John, it could be anything – Peacemaker, Solomon Grundy, or even King Shark.
Idris Elba is the only name that has been confirmed for Suicide Squad; if Cena’s news is true, he will only be the second actor to have been confirmed in the movie.
He could well be The Rock of Hollywood, however, we understand that there is no replacing The Rock!
