IPL 2023 Squad: The 15th edition of the cash-rich Indian Premier League is set to play with 10 teams in total. 2 new IPL teams have been added to the existing 8 IPL teams.
With the inclusion of 2 new teams, BCCI decides to organize the IPL 2023 Auction as the Mega Auction event with a new set of rules.

- IPL 2023 is set to have 55 matches in Mumbai and 15 in Pune.All teams are set to play four games each at the Wankhede, DY Patil Stadium, and three apiece at Brabourne and Pune.

CVC Capital is the owner of the Gujarat Titans. CVC Capital won the bidding war for 5625(over 692 million USD) to own the Gujarat Titans. The CVC Capitals’ bid was 160% more than BCCI’s base price for the IPL team.
As per the BCCI’s rules for IPL 2023 Auction, Gujarat Titans can pick a maximum of 3 players from the IPL 2023 Auction pool players before the auction date.
Ahead of IPL 2023, the Gujarat Titans bags Rashid Khan and Hardik Pandya for Rs 15 crores each while the franchise bags Shubman Gill for Rs 8 Crores INR.
It is also learned that Hardik Pandya named as captain of the Gujarat Titans.
Gujarat Titans finalised its coaching staff – they will be led by former India fast bowler Ashish Nehra, and former South Africa batter and head coach Gary Kirsten. Former England batter Vikram Solanki, who is currently Surrey’s head coach, will be the team director.
IPL 2023 Squad Lucknow Super Giants
RPSG Group of Sanjiv Goenka is the owner of the Lucknow Super Giants. RPSG Group won the bidding war for 7090 crores (over 932 million USD) to own the Lucknow team.
As per the BCCI’s rules for IPL 2023 Auction, Lucknow had to pick a maximum of 3 players from the IPL 2023 Auction pool players before the auction date.
Lucknow Super Giants ropes KL Rahul for INR 17 crores followed by Marcus Stoinis for INR 9.2 crores and uncapped Ravi Bishnoi for INR 4 crores.

IPL 2023 Retention Rules
- A team is set to be allowed to keep up to three Indian(capped/uncapped) and two foreign players with the total number of retentions not exceeding four.
- It has clearly said that a team cannot keep more than two uncapped players.
- As per the conditions, the team management can either retain three Indian players and one overseas player or two Indian players and two overseas players.
- Two New IPL teams can pick any 2 Indian and 1 foreign player from the Mega auction pool before the start of the auction 2023.
- Also, new teams can pick only one uncapped player before the auction.
- There will also be no Right to Match (RTM) cards for the IPL 2023 Mega Auction.
