The NBA Christmas Day schedule continued with a standout showdown between the Nets and the Lakers.

Brooklyn, which is back in action after having postponed its last three games due to the NBA’s COVID health and safety protocols, did not have MVP candidate Kevin Durant, who entered the protocols last week, but the Nets got a big boost like James Harden. He came back to see his first action since December 10.

The Lakers, who entered the break with a 16-17 record, desperately needed a win, but fell 23 points to the Nets, led by Harden’s 36-point triple-double (36-10-10), and a Australian Patty Mills’ race night, who finished with 34 points (8 of 13 from distance) and 7 assists.
