What is better in life? Well that depends on who you are and where you are in your life.

Ask a young Giannis Antetokounmpo, and this is what he would have to say:

An older and wiser Giannis would have this to add:

Ask Conan the Barbarian and he will tell you that he is crushing your enemies, seeing them led before you and hearing the wailing of his partners. Michael Jordan would probably agree.

For me, the best thing in life is to write a story that really hits home. That is what I have dedicated the last decade of my life to, and it is what you will see now that I will cover the entire league on The Sporting News.

Writing concisely is a skill. For those of you who don’t know me, I’ll keep my introduction to three sentences.

1. I was the first exclusive NBA writer for The Athletic and spent four years helping to grow that site.

2. I became independent for the past two years and gained a passionate following from Chicago Bulls fans.

3. I tend to under-promise and over-deliver.

I wouldn’t have quit freelance writing for any chance. But partnering with The Sporting News was a no-brainer for me. When working for me, it was important to me to make my stories accessible to everyone. That is why all my content was pay what you want. At TSN, everyone will be able to read what I write and I will have much better access and resources to get all the stories I want on a larger scale.

I promise you that you will not see the same recycled stories that are spread across the Internet under my signature. I have been proud to offer the most exclusive, in-depth and fun coverage of the Bulls. I like to think of myself as an expert in all trades. I dived into the strategy and specific plays during games, explained some of the salary cap rules to show what kind of player movement can happen, and added a daddy meme or joke to keep things light.

Now, I’ll do all of that for the entire league.

My biggest hope is that after reading one of my stories, you feel like you were entertained and learned something new. More than anything, I respect my readers’ time. There will be no filler stories or click baits here.

There are so many talented and brilliant basketball writers that they never get a chance to show what they can actually do. That is why I do not take this opportunity for granted. I already told you that I don’t make big promises lightly.

We can all have different responses to what is best in life. But when you ask what is the best in NBA coverage, the answer will be The Sporting News.
