England vs New Zealand 1st test day 2: England all out on 141 runs, 8 wickets in 49 runs in the first innings

England was reduced to a modest 9-run lead in their first innings on the second day of the England-New Zealand Lord’s Test. In response to New Zealand’s 132 runs in the first innings, England’s team could also score 141 runs. England’s team, once looking in a strong position on the score of 92/2, lost their last 8 wickets in making 49 runs. Opener Jack Crowley scored the highest 43 runs from his side. While fellow opener Alex Lees scored 25 runs.

Tim Southee took 4 wickets for New Zealand. Trent Boult got 3 and Kyle Jamieson got 2 wickets. All-rounder Colin de Grandhomme also got a breakthrough.

England’s collapse after a good start

In the first innings of the first Test of the series, the England team stumbled after a good start. England got off to a good start with the batting as well, after settling New Zealand for 132 in the first innings. His openers Jack Crowley and Alex Lees added 59 runs for the first wicket.

Jamieson gave New Zealand the first breakthrough by dismissing Jack Crowley for 43 runs. After this England’s batting faltered.

After the fall of the first wicket, the whole team got out after adding 82 runs.

Oli Pop, who came to bat at number three, scored 7 runs and got out as the second wicket on the team score of 75. After this, former captain Joe Root also returned to the pavilion after scoring 11 runs. Alex Lees, who was playing from the beginning, was also dismissed soon after scoring 25 runs. England’s team could not recover from these constant setbacks till the last.

Jonny Bairstow and captain Ben Stokes were dismissed after scoring 1-1. The team’s tail batsmen also could not do any wonders and the England team was dismissed for 141 in the first innings with a 9-run lead.

NZ is going towards the big score in the second innings

With the 180* partnership of Daryl Michell and Tom Blundell NZ is going towards the big score. NZ is 236/4 after the stumps of day 2 here in Lods.
