Chelsea superstar Eden Hazard has stalled upon talks for a contract extension in hopes of getting a move to his dream club Real Madrid in the summer. A contract offer with a salary of £300,000-per-week is allegedly on the table for Hazard, which will make him the highest paid player in the Chelsea squad and in the history of the club. But Hazard is not keen on signing the contract till at least the end of the season and will then decide whether to renew with the Stamford Bridge-based club or not.
The Times are reporting that Hazard wants to gauge after the end of the season whether Real Madrid have any genuine interest in him or not. Real Madrid have long had an interest in signing Hazard and view him as a long-term successor to Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who at the age of 32 is soon approaching the twilight of his career. Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane is also a big admirer of Hazard and has repeatedly called him one of the best-attacking players in the world. Hazard too has great admiration for Real calling them his dream club. He also has huge admiration for Zinedine Zidane, idolizing him while growing up.
Hazard has a contract till 2020 to keep him at the club, already being the highest paid player at the club with wages of around £200,000 per-week. Chelsea have now offered him a five-year extension to his existing contract which will make sure that Hazard commits the prime years of his career to Chelsea.
