Lionel Messi has reportedly instructed the Barcelona board to sign superstar Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard in the summer in order to compliment him and Luis Suarez up front. Messi has also apparently blocked Barcelona from signing Antonine Griezmann next season, believing Luis Suarez is still the right guy to lead the line for the Blaugrana's.
Barcelona have overthrown Manchester United as the favourites to land the signature of Atletico Madrid hotshot Antoine Griezmann. Various reports in Spain have suggested that Barcelona have already agreed on personal terms with the French forward and will soon agree upon a transfer fee with Atletico Madrid.
But Spanish website Don Balon have claimed that Lionel Messi is apprehensive to Barcelona signing the Atletico Madrid forward. Messi believes Chelsea's Eden Hazard will be a perfect signing for Barcelona and wants the board to prioritise his signature over not only Griezmann but also Phillipe Coutinho.
Messi believes Hazard's versatility will be better suited to Ernesto Valverde's tactics. Hazard could seamlessly operate in Barcelona's midfield three as an advanced playmaker and his skills and technique would also allow him to operate on either flank in the front three or as a false 9.
Chelsea though would be highly reluctant to let go of their most important and creative player. It would be also interesting to see whether Hazard would be willing to play a supporting role to the likes of Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez when he is the main man at a big club like Chelsea.
If Barcelona want to sign Hazard, they would probably have to pay close to the transfer fee of 198 million pounds which PSG paid them for the transfer of Brazilian superstar Neymar.
