On this day in 1987, one of the most underrated midfielders in Sami Khedira was born in Stuttgart, Germany. Born to a Tunisian father and a German mother, a then young Sami started his footballing career with the local side Stuttgart, joining their youth academy in 1995. The midfielder progressed through Stuttgart’s youth ranks before making his debut in 2006. A brilliant form with Stuttgart saw the midfielder getting his international call for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa by coach Joachim LÃ¶w. His exploits in the World Cup earned him a move to Real Madrid, with whom he went on to win the La Liga, Copa Del Rey, Supercopa de EspaÃ±a and the UEFA Champions League. Eventually in 2015, after winning every club trophy at club level, Khedira moved to Juventus and has a little more than 100 appearances for the Old Lady till date.
