As there were new rules set by Formula One for the weight of their drivers, Lewis Hamilton was quick to jump on the opportunity and add some muscle to his frame. The Formula One ace stuck to the famous eat-cheat diet in his bid to add the extra kilos.
While he has been mostly discreet about his fitness regime and diet; the star finally revealed his cheat meals although leaving the diet to still be a secret. The scenario was perfect for Lewis, as he planned to gain weight during the winter break, which is the prime time to bulk up according to most diet and fitness experts.
According to the new Formula One rules, the drivers must be a minimum of 12stones and 8 lbs. The five-time world champion was 10 stones and 8lbs before he went on his gorging diet. Post to his diet changes and weight-gain regime, Lewis went up to 11 stones and 7lbs.
As he was offered an “eat anything” program by his trainer, Lewis welcomed the opportunity with open arms. He said, “Over the winter I could eat whatever I wanted, so pancakes and Cheetos, all that stuff.”
“I stayed very active, and there is good and bad about that as you run low on energy. But for the last month I have been pretty clean. My body fat is going down and you target more efficient defined muscle. I am not trying to be the Hulk, but it takes time to put on muscle in the right way and it has been great to eat bigger portions.”
He also added that post his weight gain, he had to adjust his seat setting and said that was ‘interesting’.
