The sports world is home to many extraordinary athletes who time and again prove to us that they’re winners, whether in their respective sports and otherwise too.
Remember the time when Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford debuted for the devils and then went on to give his exam papers. The world applauded his dedication and the boy wonder was making headlines all over the world. Well, here’s someone who has similarly aced on the education front as she did in her sport as well.
India’s pride in sprinting, Hima Das, recently gave her 12th class examination in February this year. The results are out and being the champion she is, Hima has scored a 1st division score. Getting 349 out of 500, Hima cleared her exams and well, we couldn’t have been more proud of her.
Juggling sports and education has been a major challenge for both Indian athletes and others around the world. The mental strength to concentrate on education and the physical endurance required for any sport can be draining most of the times. But Hima has made it look like it was a walk in the park.
After a year-long break from her studies, Hima was back at it and cleared the tests with flying colours.
Ever since Hima created history by becoming the first Indian athlete to win a gold in a track event at the IAAF World U-20 Championships, the country has been immensely proud of her. Not only has she made a mark in the history of Indian sports, but she has also inspired many female athletes, who now look up to her.
Hima has shown us what champions are made of. Here’s wishing her a hearty congratulations!
