Spanish badminton star Carolina Marin broke a billion hearts in India when she defeated PV Sindhu in the final of the singles event in Rio Olympics in 2016.
She is making sure that she wins all those hearts back again. Badminton is just a game but what she is doing off the field, is something that everyone should take notice of. She has joined hands with a project that is intended to help fight against sexual abuse of children. The project is named Masoom and now Marin is the brand ambassador of the same, lending a helping hand.
In a video uploaded on Twitter, she said, “Child safety in a very important subject and I am very happy to spread about project Masoom, which is an initiative by Young Indians…Let us lend our hands to protect children of our countries against child sexual abuse.”
Marin is a badminton sensation in the world and has won many awards and titles. She has won the world championship twice whereas winning prestigious All England Championship in 2015 too. Interestingly, she beat India’s Saina Nehwal in the final of the tournament to win the title.
This act of Marin shows that she has a heart of gold. She features in the Premier Badminton League and for the same she comes to India every year. No wonder Marin has found a new home in India.
