After practising for months and undergoing an intense session on badminton practice, Shraddha Kapoor has been replaced by Parineeti Chopra in Saina Nehwal’s biopic. The reports were first taken up by Mumbai Mirror, where they claimed that Shraddha Kapoor, who is in London – shooting for Street Dancer 3D, has been replaced by Parineeti Chopra.
Film analyst and a film critic, Taran Adarsh, also confirmed the news by posting about it on his Twitter account.
IT’S OFFICIAL… Parineeti Chopra to play renowned badminton player #SainaNehwal… She will start training for the biopic soon… Directed by Amole Gupte… Produced by Bhushan Kumar… Filming will be completed by 2019-end… Early 2020 release.

The shooting for the film by Amol Gupte had begun back in September last year. However, the shoot came to an unexpected halt when Shraddha was diagnosed with dengue. She had also posted a picture of her looking like Saina Nehwal on her Instagram confirming the role.
The lead actress of ABCD, however, is now busy shooting for Street Dancer 3D and has willingly stepped down from this role due to her busy schedule. She was set to get back on the shoot this April, but now there is a new face that will play Saina in her biopic.
Producer Bhushan Kumar wishes to release the film early in 2020 and said:
We want to wrap up Saina by this year-end for an early 2020 release, so going ahead with the project is a decision taken by mutual consent. We are glad Parineeti has come on board for the film. Saina has made every Indian proud and we can’t wait to take her story to the world in the year of the Olympics.
Now, it is left for us to see whether Parineeti, who has been away from the screen for a while, does justice to the role or not. We wish she can make a strong comeback through this role!
