NBA has recently seen a big dash of the Indian desi culture. They have expanded their base of operations in India, promoting the game heavily in India. They have sent NBA superstar Chris Bosh to India to promote the game, with Kevin Durant scheduled to visit India as well. Satnam Singh has also become the first Indian player to be picked in an NBA draft by Dallas Mavericks.
Now in an effort to introduce the Americans to Indian culture, the NBA afforded the opportunity to a Bhangra dance group in America, Bhangra Empire to perform their famous dance moves in front of the NBA audience during a live game.
The performance of the group took place during the high-profile NBA match between Golden State Warriors and Memphis Grizzlies at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. The performance was a fusion dance with some popular English songs mixed with Bhangra beats.
The crowd were enthralled by the performances by Bhangra Empire and got a better taste of Indian culture after witnessing it. The group themselves were grateful to the NBA for affording them such an opportunity.

The NBA have certainly stepped up in their efforts to promote the game back in India. They realize that India is probably the most untapped market globally in the game of basketball. If they are able to establish the game in India, it will be a huge source of revenue for them.
