The ICC World Cup 2019 is coming up real soon and all the prep and excitement is high. Players going through rigorous training sessions, the coaching staff planning out their strategies, and the World Cup committee working in the tournament, everything is surely underway.
The Indian team members are taking a sweet break after the gruelling Indian Premier League season. But some of them seem to be back at the training grounds. As for Indian captain Virat Kohli, he is busy admiring the newest addition to his shoe collection.
Well, these are ones he will be taking to the field and not the red carpet! In an Instagram post, Virat Kohli proudly showed off his new kicks – Puma One8 Gold Spikes Collector’s Edition, pure beauty!

My World Cup 🏆 spikes are here – decked in gold & white! Super excited to show you the PUMA one8 Gold Spike Collector’s Edition and even more thrilled to put them to work on the pitch. 😊 Cheers for crafting this limited-edition pair for me, @pumaindia. Let's go create history together. 🙌 #PUMAone8GoldSpike
These are by far the best ever cricket spikes the world has seen. While the glam of boots was only limited to football and other sports, it clearly has made its way into the cricketing world. Also, who other than Virat would be perfect to take this bandwagon further. During the IPL, he was seen sporting the blue and white One8 spikes by Puma. They were quickly picked up by Indian and overseas players in the IPL.
Coming back to the hottest cricketing spikes ever, let’s get into more detail. First, here is a better look at the white and gold spikes!
Cricket shoes were considered boring and this man (Virat Kohli) is changing it single-handedly. Since his collaboration with Puma and the launch of One8, he has worn some absolutely jaw-dropping shoes. These gold and white and pure legend with the gradient gold at the back and the trademark gold Puma strap on the side.
What’s more the spikes on these shoes are golden too! Let us hope the England mud does not stick into them too much. Well, let us hope Virat’s form continues in his new boots and the skipper could bring home the grand prize as well.
