Shane Watson picked the 2nd hat-trick of IPL 2014 against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Watson dismissed Shikhar Dhawan on the last ball of innings’ 4th over. He returned to bowl the 17th over and picked two wickets in two balls to complete the 2nd hat-trick of this season. He dismissed Moises Henriques and Karn Sharma.
The hat-trick taken by Shane Watson was the second of that edition that took place in the year 2014. Rajasthan Royals became the first team to record three hat-tricks, the other two coming from Pravin Tambe and tainted off-spinner Ajit Chandila. Watson ended up with bowling figures of 2-0-13-3. Sunrisers managed to put 134/9 after 20 overs.
Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad ended up scoring 134 for 9 in 20 overs where skipper Shikhar Dhawan ended up scoring the highest score of 33 runs while Karn Sharma scored 21. Apart from Watson, Rajat Bhatia picked up three wickets.
Though, Watson’s efforts went in vain as Rajasthan left 32 runs short of going over the line. Shane Watson was removed by his Australian teammate by Moises Henriques for 11 runs. Bhuvneshwar Kumar came up with clinical figures of 4/14 in four overs as Rajasthan Royals were bundled out for a total of 102 runs.
Apart from Bhuvi, Irfan Pathan and Amit Mishra too showed character with their bowling. Mishra just extracted 13 runs in 4 overs while Pathan picked up a wicket after giving away just 8 runs in 11 balls he bowled.
