Pakistan became the second team to register a berth in the final of T20 World Cup after they beat England by 147 runs. Hundreds from openers Badar Munir, Israr Hassan guided Pakistan to a total of 309/1 in 20 overs.
Later Pakistan bowlers restricted the English players at 162/7 to make a place in the final. Issar Hassan top scored for Pakistan with an unbeaten 143. The Pakistan team will now lock horns with India in Bengaluru in the final match.
For England, it was Matthew James who came up with some resistance and scored 41 but that was never enough to chase this mammoth total.
Earlier, on Friday India registered a berth in the final of T20 World Cup of Blind cricket after they thumped Sri Lanka by 10 wickets. Batting first Sri Lanka scored 174 in 19.2 overs before their innings were wrapped up.
Suranga Sampath scored the highest individual score for his team after he smashed 49 runs while Chandana Deshapriya scored 42 before he was undone by Golu Kumar. In reply to Sri Lanka’s 174, India rode on Prakash’s 115 to wrap the match by 10 wickets.
Ajay Kumar Reddy scored an unbeaten half century during India’s chase where they didn’t leave a stone un-turned to snatch the victory with authority.
Dinesh Nihara Mathugama was smashed for 30 runs in one over. Pakistan have defeated India in the league match in the tournament and the home side would now be seeking to turn tables when they lock horns with the arch rivals.
