Brett Lee calls India his second home. It seems the former Australian pacer means what he says. Lee has joined a Tamil Nadu Premier league side Ruby Kanchi Warriors as mentor and Brand Ambassador. Warriors represent Kancheepuram and the team is owned by Ruby Builders and Promoters.
Lee will also be seen in the lead role in his maiden Bollywood film ‘UnIndian’.
The 39-year-old is one of the best Australian pacers to have played the game. Lee has a splendid bowling record – with 310 and 380 wickets in Tests and ODIs respectively.
He is not the only foreigner player to join the TNPL as a mentor. Lee’s contemporary Michael Bevan has also been named the Head Coach of the Madurai Super Giants. Former Proteas’ all-rounder Lance Klusener was also roped in by the Lyca Kovai Kings as chief coach last month.
Kanchi Warriors are very happy after roping in Lee as a mentor. One of their officials said, “The Ruby Kanchi Warriors are happy to have a player of his stature associated with them for the TN Premier League.”
TNPL will kick off on August 27 in Chennai and will see eight teams clashing with each other for 23 days.
