Kolkata Knight Riders captain Gautam Gambhir has not lost hope and is taking inspiration from Muhammad Ali after being snubbed by the national selectors for India’s 15-man squad for the ICC Champions Trophy. Despite being in brilliant form for the Kolkata Knight Riders in the 10th edition of the IPL, Gambir was not selected for the Indian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, with chief selector MSK Prasad indicating that Gambhir was not even under consideration for the Indian squad.
Gambhir now has resorted to taking inspiration from arguably the most influential figure in the world of sport, the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. Gambhir on his personal Twitter account, retweeted one of the most iconic quotes spoken by Ali. He retweeted the message, “I am grateful for all my victories, but I am especially grateful for my losses because they only made me work harder.”

The tweet shows that despite being snubbed and at the twilight of his career, Gambhir has yet not given up hope on being selected for the Indian cricket team again. He is in brilliant form despite his age and if he continues to perform, the selectors will have no choice but to select him in the Indian team again. He has shown in the IPL that he still has what it takes to represent India in the blues again.
