India has moved to the top of ICC Test rankings after Sri Lanka thrashed Australia by 163 runs in the third Test. India were currently placed at number 2 in Test ranking behind Australia but after losing the 3-match Test series 3-0, Australia has slipped to third position and India have replaced them at the top. This is the first time the Indian side has grabbed the top spot in Test under the leadership of Virat Kohli.
India have been playing some good Test match cricket since the last one year. They have won their last two Test series. India has beaten South Africa at home and Sri Lanka in their own den in 2015. India has sealed the 4-match Test series against West Indies in the Caribbean as well.
On the other hand, Pakistan has also benefitted from their good performance in England where the levelled the Test series. They are now on 111 points, sitting comfortably at number 2 on the table. They are followed by Australia (108), England (108) and New Zealand (99). India, meanwhile, sits at the top with 112 points.
