Kedar Jadhav has been snapped up by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 7.8 crore in the IPL 2018 auction at Bengaluru. Jadhav, who has played for Delhi Dardevils, Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Royal Challengers Bangalore in the past has found a new franchise to represent his year. RCB did not exercise their Right to Match card. He had a base price of Rs 2 crore. Jadhav in his previous season with RCB scored 267 runs in 13 matches at 22.25 with a strike rate of 143.54. He also slammed on fifty (69) but RCB finished rock bottom despite of making it to the final in 2016.
Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Chennai Super Kings were going all out for the Indian all-rounder, but it was CSK who eventually got him.
Jadhav has found it tough to break into the Indian team in the recent past after the emergence of the likes of Manish Pandey and Shreyas Iyer. Jadhav however, has played a few useful knocks for his country. Jadhav however has been picked in the ODI squad for the South Africa tour, where Team India will play 6 ODIs against the Proteas. However, Jadhav last played an ODI against New Zealand in October as he was overlooked for the limited-overs leg against Sri Lanka.
In the IPL Jadhav has scored a total of 893 runs at 23.50 at 134.89 from 64 matches. He has also hit as many as three fifties after making his debut in 2010. He will hope that he has a productive stint with his new team. Jadhav made his international debut in an ODI against Sri Lanka in 2014. He has played 37 ODIs and 9 T20Is for India so far.
