Former New Zealand captain and one of the most destructive batsmen over the last decade of international cricket, Brendon McCullum has spoken up on being picked up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for the upcoming season of the IPL. McCullum fetched a big amount as he was snapped up by the Virat Kohli-led franchise for Rs 3.6 crores.
The acquisition ensures that Royal Challengers Bangalore will again have an all-star batting lineup in the IPL with the top-4 consisting of 4 of the most devastating batsmen in the world; Quinton de Kock, Brendon McCullum, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. They also have young Indians like Sarfaraz Khan in the team who will undoubtedly provide able backup to the big guns.
Kohli and De Villiers are widely regarded as two of the best batsmen in world cricket right now and even the experienced McCullum seemed to be in awe of playing with the two. He said in a tweet that it would be a dream come true when he would step onto the field with the two behemoths of the game.
He tweeted out, “Very very happy to be joining up with @RCBTweets. In @imVkohli and @ABdeVilliers17, they are two blokes I have dreamed of playing with!”
