Ravichandran Ashwin and Cheteshwar Pujara are currently away from the hustle and bustle of international cricket, slugging it out for their respective counties Worcestershire and Nottinghamshire in Division II of the English domestic circuit. The pair recently faced off against each other at Trent Bridge in Nottingham with Pujara’s Nottinghamshire hosting Ashwin’s Worcestershire.
Ashwin had the last laugh as his visiting side handed Nottinghamshire their first defeat of the season. Both Pujara and Ashwin though did not have a big impact on the game. Pujara could only score 28 and 4 in both his innings at the crease. Ashwin, on the other hand, did not get to bowl in the first innings and went wicketless in the second. He got to bat in the first innings but could only score 19 runs.
But Ashwin was not about to let go of the fact that his side came out on top against Pujara’s Nottinghamshire and tried to rub it in on Pujara’s face. He trolled Pujara on Twitter, stating:

Pujara though was much more gracious in his reply stating that it was a good experience to play against Ravichandran Ashwin for a change:

All in all, Pujara and Ashwin trolling each other was in good spirits and nothing else. It is only a good sign for Indian cricket that both the players are getting to play in English conditions and performing well, which will be key with India’s long tour of England coming up in 2018.
