Indian opener Rohit Sharma, who recently passed the Yo-Yo test ahead of UK tour to confirm his place in the squad, has lashed out on media for spreading false rumours about him. Actually, all the players who were selected for UK tour were done with their Yo-Yo test almost a week before Rohit.
Rohit at that time was busy touring Russia at the start of FIFA World Cup 2018, which made him arrive late in India for the test. Meanwhile, a report emerged saying Ajinkya Rahane has been kept as backup for Rohit in case of failing the Yo-Yo test, whose benchmark is 16:1.
Simultaneously, another segment of media reported that Rohit has had his Yo-Yo test and has failed to breach the benchmark of 16:1 and was allowed the give the test again in order to ensure his place. In between, Rohit came back to India, gave the test and passed it successfully to ensure his place in the squad.
Following all these media speculations, Rohit outburst on Twitter over the false news spread by media and wrote, “Dear… it’s no ones business how & where I spend my time.I’m entitled to have time off as long as I follow protocol.Let’s debate some real news shall we & to a few channels,I had just 1 chance to clear my yo-yo that was today.Verification before reporting is always a good idea”
