The Indian cricket team has landed in Australia where they will soon get their tour underway with the first T20I of the three-match series at the Gabba in Brisbane. The team have been striving hard to be as close to their best as possible before the marquee series gets rolling and have been working hard on their fitness in the gym and the basics of the game in the nets.
But the players are also getting plenty of time off to explore other things and meet some friends and celebrities in Australia. One of the players who is making great use of the little time off is Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli, who was seen hanging out with one of the greatest Australian footballers of all-time, Tim Cahill.
Tim Cahill is well-known to the fans of Premier League and international football, being a key player for the Everton side under David Moyes. Cahill is also Australia’s all-time leading scorer in international football with 50 goals in 107 appearances. He is currently playing for Jamshedpur FC in the Indian Super League but flew back home during the international break.
Despite all his accolades, it seemed as though Cahill was a little bit starstruck meeting the Indian captain, being full of praise for him on his Instagram account.
Cahill wrote while sharing a photo of him hanging out with Virat, “Pleasure to catch up with you brother @virat.kohli ⚽️ Alot of respect for you and the work you do in INDIA on and off the cricket pitch. Appreciate you supporting my move to play football in India. #LEGEND.”
Here is the image which Cahill shared on his Insta account:
It’s good to see two sportspersons with such high standings in their respective games showing such mutual admiration for each other.
