Showing off his patriotic side, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli posted a video on social media where he can be seen wearing an orange colour kurta and talking about his childhood memories of Independence Day.
In the video Virat said, “Tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe azaadi dunga… Aapko pata hai bachpan mein mujhe yeh quotes muh zubani yaad the word-to-word. Kuch aadatein aisi hain jo aaj tak nahi badli jaise 15 August ke din apni Veshbhusha pehen ne ki. Too tradition ko aage badate hue, iss Independence Day pe main pehnunga apni veshbhusha. Main tag karunga Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant. (You give me blood, I’ll give you freedom. Do you know in my childhood, I remembered such quotes word-by-word. There are some habits that still have not changed such as wearing traditional Indian dress on August 15. So, continuing the tradition this year too, I’ll wear traditional Indian attire.)”
Passing on the “Veshbhusha” challenge to Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant, Virat wrote, “#Veshbhusha will unite us all this Independence Day. I have nominated @shikhardofficial, @rishabpant and would love to see all of you join us. ?? Share your Swatantrata Diwas look on social media. Don’t forget to add #Veshbhusha. ?? #JaiHind.”
Shikhar Dhawan accepted the challenge and posted his picture in Indian attire.
The second crucial test match between India and England will commence on August 9.
