The semi-final clash between Delhi Daredevils and Chennai Super Kings came under scrutiny when the Virender Sehwag-led side dropped important players from their Playing XI. Morne Morkel, who had been a match-winner for Delhi throughout the tournament was dropped from the playing XI, giving way to out-of-form Andre Russell.
Not only did they drop Morne Morkel, they also did not pick Shahbaz Nadeem, who too was in good form with the ball. Irfan Pathan too was not picked and his replacement was Sunny Gupta who leaked runs only in boundaries.
What added more doubt in Delhi Daredevils was the fact that Virender Sehwag, who played brilliantly all his life, dropped himself in the batting order.
