There has been a lot of criticism which the BCCi, the Indian cricket board, as well as the Indian team management, has had to face over the last two years for the lack of preparation ahead of high-profile overseas tours. The Indian batsmen looked undercooked in their last two glamorous overseas tours; the tour of South Africa and the tour of England leading to heavy and embarrassing defeats on the tours.
To rectify this, the Indian team management and the board has now decided to sent most members of the squad which will tour for the four-match Test series against Australia and will not participate in the T20I series on India’s A tour of the New Zealand. Key members of the Indian Test squad like Murali Vijay, Ajinkya Rahane, Hanuma Vihari, Parthiv Patel and Prithvi Shaw will play an unofficial four-day match against New Zealand A in the beautiful Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui.
The beautiful town in New Zealand is regarded as one of the most beautiful coastal resorts in the world. It is a popular surfing destination due to its scenic beaches and parks and hills. It also has a beautiful artificial reef which is visited by many tourists throughout the year.
Prithvi Shaw who has taken Indian cricket by storm took full advantage of the scenic city before the tour match gets underway on 16th November.
Prithvi sharing a beautiful picture with him on top of the hill with a beautiful view of the sea on the background wrote on his Twitter, “When everything feels like an uphill struggle, just think of the view from Top @ Mount Maunganui.”
