On this day, back in 1995, India’s greatest batsman Sachin Tendulkar scored his career’s 4th century in ODIs during the 5th match of Asia Cup at Sharjah against Sri Lanka. Chasing a decent total of 203, Tendulkar gave a fitting start to India with his hammering willow and ended up scoring his 4th century. Tendulkar was facing the likes of Chaminda Vaas, Kumar Dharmasena, Sanath Jayasuriya, Aravinda de Silva, Champaka Ramanayake and Janak Gamage from the other end. In this course, Tendulkar, who was only 21-year old, became the youngest to complete 3,000 runs in ODIs. Tendulkar remained unbeaten till the end after scoring 112 off 107, including 15 fours and a six, which helped India beat Sri Lanka comfortably by 8 wickets with 16.5 overs left.
