Born on March 8, 1989, one of India’s finest batters at the moment Harmanpreet Kaur was born. Incidentally, March 8 also happens to be International Women’s Day. One of the biggest moents in Harmanpreet’s career came when she blasted an unbeaten 171 not out against defending champions Australia in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017 semi-final at Derby. She thrashed all the Australian bowlers and her 115-ball innings, which consisted of 20 fours and 7 sixes helped India win 36 runs, ensuring that they made it to the final. This was India’s highest score at a World Cup and the second highest individual score in WODI history.
On her birthday, let’s relive this record breaking innings from Harmanpreet Kaur.
