South African opener Aiden Markram played a brilliant counter-attacking knock of 143 against Australia while chasing 417 in the first Test of the series at Kingsmead, Durban. Markram scored 143 off just 218 balls that included 19 fours. His knock was full of beautiful strokes across the park and made Australian bowlers struggle to take his wicket. Wickets kept tumbling at one end but Markram kept on hitting and at one point, it looked he could pull off this chase if Markram remains at the crease. However, it was Mitchell Marsh who dismissed him finally and brought a huge relief to his camp as Australia further won the match by 118 runs.
